3 way switch consists of 2 switches that controls 1 or more light fixtures
You can turn the lights off in 2 different locations using three way switches. but if they are not wired correctly the switcheswont work correctly. This usually happens when the homeowner tries to change a bad switch out and incorrectly wire the new switch.
