I want U Verse but my plugs are not grounded

  Uverse will not install their equipment unless the equipment plug has a ground. To ground the plug requires new wiring to be supplied for this particular outlet.

If you have a two story home, then new wiring cannot be installed downstairs without cutting sheetrock.
